About Judith Greene

Judith Greene was born and raised in York, Pennsylvania. She received her musical education first at Mannes College of Music and then at The Manhattan School of Music.

Her performance career encompassed solo as well as many vocal and instrumental recitals throughout the New York area. In addition, she has accompanied various opera companies and choruses as well as having worked closely with many voice instructors in their studios.

Beginnings as a Piano Teacher

Judith began teaching piano at the tender age of 13 when her own teacher insisted she take a few of her own younger pupils; this beginning has blossomed into a 30 year teaching career. Rather than teach a particular method, Judith identifies each student's strengths and weaknesses and tailors her approach to their needs. Some students require more technical work while others need more flexibility and musical coaxing. Judith's particular expertise allows students to work at their own pace making piano practice and lessons both stimulating and enjoyable. Judith herself practices piano daily along with offering annual performance soirees and so has an ongoing and working knowledge of both the difficulties and pleasures of this discipline, making her an excellent choice for students who wish to progress on the piano.

Upper West Side Manhattan Location

Judith continues to give piano lessons and maintains her studio on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City, where students will have the luxury of playing on a world-class Steinway B grand piano.
